How much does a sectional garage door cost in the UK?
A single insulated electric sectional garage door, supplied and fitted, typically costs about £2,095 to £2,795 including VAT in October 2026. Manual doors start lower, at around £1,695, while doubles typically run £3,295 to £4,395 and full-vision glazed doors £5,995 or more.

What does a typical sectional door cost?
Published UK price guides in 2026 put a single insulated sectional door, supplied and fitted, somewhere between about £1,650 and £3,500, with most electric doors landing in the middle of that range. Our own guide prices sit in the same band and are built from one pricing model, so the figures here match our guide-price tool.

What pushes the price up or down?
- Size: a double door costs roughly half as much again as a single, and very large doors are priced on survey.
- Operation: a manual door saves around £400 to £500 against an electric one.
- Panel: thermally broken panels of around 67 mm add roughly £450 to £750 on a single door.
- Design: flush, cassette and woodgrain finishes add a few hundred pounds over a standard ribbed door.
- Colour: preferred colours such as anthracite grey add little or nothing; RAL colours to order add more.
- Windows: a row of window inserts adds roughly £600 to £900 on a single door.
- The opening: damaged brickwork, a new lintel or a new electrical circuit are extra and quoted separately.
Brand matters too. Premium European ranges cost more than budget imports for a door of the same size, mostly because of panel quality, hardware, operators and warranty terms.
What do repairs and servicing cost?
| Job | Guide price inc VAT |
|---|---|
| Repair visit with common parts | £150–£350 |
| Spring replacement (pair, domestic) | £180–£380 |
| Lift cable replacement (both sides) | £120–£280 |
| Rollers or track realignment | £95–£220 |
| New operator fitted to an existing sectional door | £450–£850 |
| Annual service and safety test | £95–£150 |
| Extra coded handset | £45–£75 |
| Smart app module fitted | £150–£300 |
Repair visits are chargeable because an engineer is sent out with parts and tools. We agree the visit price before we come and price any parts before fitting them.
Is VAT included?
Our domestic guide prices include VAT at 20%. Garage doors are not on the list of energy-saving materials that can be zero-rated, so VAT applies to doors and fitting. Commercial prices are shown plus VAT. If a quote elsewhere is much lower, check whether VAT, removal of the old door and the operator are included.
How do I get an exact price?
Use the four-step guide-price tool for a realistic range, then book a free survey. Every door is made to measure, so a fixed price follows once the opening, headroom and side room have been measured.
