Woodgrain and timber-effect sectional garage doors
A woodgrain sectional garage door is a steel sectional door finished to look like timber, using a printed or laminated woodgrain foil such as golden oak, walnut or rosewood over the steel panels. You get the warmth of timber with the low upkeep, insulation and stability of steel.
- Golden oak: Warm mid-tone.
- Darker woods: Walnut or rosewood effects on many ranges.
- Ribbed or cassette: Woodgrain on several panel designs.

Why not a real timber sectional door?
Real timber sectional doors exist and look superb, but timber moves with the seasons and needs regular finishing. A woodgrain-effect steel door keeps its colour and shape with only an occasional wash.
How convincing is the woodgrain?
Quality foils have a grain texture as well as a printed pattern, so they look and feel convincing from the drive. Up close, they read as a finish rather than real wood.
Which effects are popular?
Golden oak suits cottages and brick homes, darker walnut and rosewood suit stone and render, and grey-washed effects work on contemporary houses.
Will the finish fade?
Good foils are UV-stable and made for outdoor use, though south-facing doors in strong sun will always weather faster than shaded ones.
Can it match my front door and windows?
Many woodgrain effects are chosen to match common window and door foils. Bring a sample or a photo to the survey and we will compare.
