Choosing a sectional door with a pass door for a home in Prestatyn
Why choose a pass door?
Opening a whole garage door to grab a bike or bin lets out heat and takes time. A pass door gives quick, everyday access and keeps the main door shut.
Are there threshold limits?
A pass door sits within the bottom section, so there is a threshold to step over. Some ranges offer low-threshold designs that are easier to use, but it is never as level as a separate side door.
What can you choose for your Prestatyn garage?
- Safety interlockStops the door running when the pass door is open.
- Low thresholdOn selected ranges.
- Hinge sideLeft or right hand.
- Lock and handleMatched to the door.
How much does a sectional door with a pass door cost in Prestatyn?
Guide price: from £3,995 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.
What rules apply in Prestatyn?
Planning questions for homes in Prestatyn go to Denbighshire Council. Most garage door swaps need no permission, but conservation areas and listed buildings are the exceptions.
In Wales a like-for-like garage door is normally minor work outside planning control. Listed buildings, conservation areas and planning conditions are the exceptions to check.

Questions from Prestatyn customers
Can a pass door be added to my existing sectional door?
Not usually. The pass door is built into the door at the factory, so it is ordered with a new door.
Is there a step to get through a pass door?
Yes, there is a threshold. Low-threshold versions reduce it on some ranges.
Which parts of Prestatyn do you cover?

Do I need planning permission for a new garage door in Prestatyn?
Usually not. A replacement garage door of similar appearance is normally minor work in Wales, but listed buildings, conservation areas and planning conditions can change that. If in doubt, check with Denbighshire Council.
