Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
At the free survey we measure everything the manufacturer needs, check the brickwork, lintel and floor, and agree the door details with you.
What rules apply in Walkden?
Walkden falls under Salford City Council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
A new garage door in an existing opening is not normally development needing planning permission in England. The exceptions are listed buildings, conservation areas, Article 4 areas and estates where a planning condition restricts changes to the garage.
If the garage already has a socket near the operator position, no electrical notification is needed. A brand-new circuit is notifiable under Part P in England.
