Key questions about new sectional garage doors in Tyldesley
What happens on fitting day?
The old door is taken out, the opening is prepared, the frame and vertical tracks go in, the horizontal tracks are hung from the ceiling, the panels are assembled section by section, and the springs are fitted and set. The operator is fitted last, then everything is tested.
Do you supply doors for others to fit?
This service is supply and fit. Spring-loaded doors are dangerous to install without training, which is why we fit what we supply.

Guide price for a new sectional garage door in Tyldesley
Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
Our free survey checks the opening, headroom above it, room either side for the tracks, garage depth and where an operator will be powered from.
What rules apply in Tyldesley?
The planning authority for Tyldesley is Wigan Council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.
English planning rules normally treat a replacement garage door as permitted. Listed status, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and estate planning conditions are what can change that.
Operators normally run from a switched fused spur; adding one to an existing circuit is not notifiable in England, but a new circuit falls under Part P.

Questions from Tyldesley customers
How much does installation cost?
Installation is included in our supply-and-fit prices. A typical single door is around £2,095–£2,795 supplied and fitted.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to be there at the start and for the handover at the end, so we can agree the details and show you how everything works.
Do you cover Tyldesley?
Yes. We cover Tyldesley, including postcode districts M28, M29, M38, M46, WN7. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Will Wigan Council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. If in doubt, ask Wigan Council before ordering.
