What will a new sectional garage door cost in Tewkesbury?
Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. That covers the door, fitting, removal of a standard old door and VAT; the fixed price follows the free survey.
At the free survey we measure everything the manufacturer needs, check the brickwork, lintel and floor, and agree the door details with you.
Do you need permission in Tewkesbury?
The planning authority for Tewkesbury is the local district or borough council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.
English planning rules normally treat a replacement garage door as permitted. Listed status, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and estate planning conditions are what can change that.
If the garage already has a socket near the operator position, no electrical notification is needed. A brand-new circuit is notifiable under Part P in England.

Questions from Tewkesbury customers
How much does installation cost?
Installation is included in our supply-and-fit prices. A typical single door is around £2,095–£2,795 supplied and fitted.
Do I need to clear the garage?
Please clear the area just inside the opening and along both side walls and the ceiling for the length of the tracks.
Do you cover Tewkesbury?
Yes. We cover Tewkesbury, including postcode districts GL20. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Will the local district or borough council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. If in doubt, ask the local district or borough council before ordering.
