Glazed and full-vision sectional garage doors in Keynsham

Glazed and full-vision sectional garage doors: what matters for Keynsham garages

Are glazed doors secure?

Glazed panels are generally polycarbonate or safety glazing, depending on the range. A glazed door is still locked by the operator or a lock, but it naturally shows more than a solid door, which is one reason obscured glazing is popular.

Are full-vision doors heavier?

Aluminium and glazing can weigh more than steel panels of the same size, so springs and operators are sized to suit.

Planning and regulations for Keynsham homes

The planning authority for Keynsham is Bath and North East Somerset Council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.

In England you can usually replace a garage door without planning permission. Check first if the house is listed, sits in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or was built with planning conditions covering the garage.
