Side sectional garage doors in Worcestershire
Looking for a side sectional door in Worcestershire? We cover Worcester, Redditch, Kidderminster and Malvern and the rest of the area, measuring, supplying and fitting each door.
A side sectional garage door is made of vertical panels that run sideways on a curved track and park along the inside wall of the garage instead of under the ceiling. It suits garages with little or no headroom, ceilings you want to keep clear, or roof spaces used for storage, and it can be opened part-way for walking in and out.

What rules apply in Worcestershire?
In England, swapping a garage door for a new one, including an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission. Permission or consent can be needed if the house is listed, if it sits in a conservation area or is covered by an Article 4 direction, or if the new door would noticeably change how the house looks from the street. On many newer estates a planning condition removes permitted development rights or requires the garage to be kept for parking, so check your planning history before changing the door or the use of the garage.
Planning in Worcestershire is handled by the district and borough councils, not the county council.

Questions about side sectional garage doors in Worcestershire
How much is a side sectional garage door?
As a guide, a side sectional door supplied and fitted is from £3,495, depending on size, finish and whether it is electric.
Can it open part-way?
Yes. Many installations use a pedestrian opening position so you can walk in without opening the whole door.
Will a side sectional fit if I have a side door?
It depends where the side door is. The parking wall needs to be clear, so a side door on that wall can stop it fitting.
Which towns in Worcestershire do you cover?
We cover Worcester, Redditch, Kidderminster, Malvern, Bromsgrove, Evesham, Droitwich and Stourport-on-Severn and other towns across Worcestershire.
Do I need planning permission in Worcestershire?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. Check with your local planning authority if in doubt.
