Can you use it as a pedestrian door?

Which options are available in Aberystwyth?

- FinishesMost ribbed, flush and woodgrain finishes, with vertical panel joints.
Guide price for a side sectional door in Aberystwyth
Guide price: from £3,495 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
At the free survey we measure everything the manufacturer needs, check the brickwork, lintel and floor, and agree the door details with you.
What rules apply in Aberystwyth?
Aberystwyth falls under Ceredigion Council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
In Wales a like-for-like garage door is normally minor work outside planning control. Listed buildings, conservation areas and planning conditions are the exceptions to check.

Questions from Aberystwyth customers
Can it open part-way?
Yes. Many installations use a pedestrian opening position so you can walk in without opening the whole door.
Will a side sectional fit if I have a side door?
It depends where the side door is. The parking wall needs to be clear, so a side door on that wall can stop it fitting.
Do you cover Aberystwyth?
Yes. We cover Aberystwyth, including postcode districts SY23. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Do I need planning permission for a new garage door in Aberystwyth?
Usually not. A replacement garage door of similar appearance is normally minor work in Wales, but listed buildings, conservation areas and planning conditions can change that. If in doubt, check with Ceredigion Council.
