What should Bloxwich homeowners know about sectional doors with a pass door?
Is a separate side door better?
If there is space for a side door, it is usually easier to use and keeps the main door simpler. Where there is not, a pass door is the neat answer.
Are there threshold limits?
A pass door sits within the bottom section, so there is a threshold to step over. Some ranges offer low-threshold designs that are easier to use, but it is never as level as a separate side door.
What can you choose for your Bloxwich garage?
- Hinge sideLeft or right hand.
- Safety interlockStops the door running when the pass door is open.
- Low thresholdOn selected ranges.
- Lock and handleMatched to the door.
What will a sectional door with a pass door cost in Bloxwich?
Guide price: from £3,995 inc VAT. The figure includes VAT, fitting and taking away a standard old door. Your survey turns it into a fixed price.
At the free survey we measure everything the manufacturer needs, check the brickwork, lintel and floor, and agree the door details with you.
What rules apply in Bloxwich?
The planning authority for Bloxwich is Walsall Council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.
English planning rules normally treat a replacement garage door as permitted. Listed status, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and estate planning conditions are what can change that.

Questions from Bloxwich customers
How much does a pass door add?
A sectional door with an integrated pass door is typically from £3,995 supplied and fitted, as it is a specialist build.
Is there a step to get through a pass door?
Yes, there is a threshold. Low-threshold versions reduce it on some ranges.
Do you cover Bloxwich?
Yes. We cover Bloxwich, including postcode districts WS1, WS2, WS3, WS4, WV11, WV12. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Will Walsall Council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not. If in doubt, ask Walsall Council before ordering.
