Sectional garage doors with a pass door: what matters for Risca garages
Does it affect the operator?
Yes. The operator is linked to a safety switch so the main door cannot move while the pass door is open.
Are there threshold limits?
A pass door sits within the bottom section, so there is a threshold to step over. Some ranges offer low-threshold designs that are easier to use, but it is never as level as a separate side door.
Which options are available in Risca?
- Low thresholdOn selected ranges.
- Safety interlockStops the door running when the pass door is open.
- Hinge sideLeft or right hand.
- Lock and handleMatched to the door.
How much does a sectional door with a pass door cost in Risca?
Guide price: from £3,995 inc VAT. The figure includes VAT, fitting and taking away a standard old door. Your survey turns it into a fixed price.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.

Questions from Risca customers
How much does a pass door add?
A sectional door with an integrated pass door is typically from £3,995 supplied and fitted, as it is a specialist build.
Can a pass door be added to my existing sectional door?
Not usually. The pass door is built into the door at the factory, so it is ordered with a new door.
Do you cover Risca?
Yes. We cover Risca, including postcode districts NP11. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Do I need planning permission for a new garage door in Risca?
Usually not. A replacement garage door of similar appearance is normally minor work in Wales, but listed buildings, conservation areas and planning conditions can change that. If in doubt, check with Caerphilly Council.
Do you also cover towns near Risca?
Yes. Close to Risca we also cover Newport (Gwent) (5 mi), Cwmbran (5 mi), Caerphilly (6 mi) and Pontypool (7 mi).
