Sectional garage door installation in Kidderminster

Sectional garage door installation: what matters for Kidderminster garages

What is checked at survey?

We measure the opening width and height, headroom above the opening, side room either side, the depth of the garage, and the condition of the brickwork, lintel and floor. We also look at power for an operator and anything that could get in the way of the tracks.

Why does balancing matter?

A balanced door should stay roughly where you leave it part-open. If the springs are set too light or too heavy, the door wears faster and the operator works harder. Balancing is a key step we never skip.

Planning and regulations for Kidderminster homes

If your property in Kidderminster is listed, in a conservation area or on an estate with planning conditions, the local district or borough council is the authority to check with before ordering.

English planning rules normally treat a replacement garage door as permitted. Listed status, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and estate planning conditions are what can change that.

If the garage already has a socket near the operator position, no electrical notification is needed. A brand-new circuit is notifiable under Part P in England.
