Sectional garage door installation: what matters for Burgess Hill garages
What is checked at survey?
We measure the opening width and height, headroom above the opening, side room either side, the depth of the garage, and the condition of the brickwork, lintel and floor. We also look at power for an operator and anything that could get in the way of the tracks.
What happens on fitting day?
The old door is taken out, the opening is prepared, the frame and vertical tracks go in, the horizontal tracks are hung from the ceiling, the panels are assembled section by section, and the springs are fitted and set. The operator is fitted last, then everything is tested.

How much does a new sectional garage door cost in Burgess Hill?
Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
At the free survey we measure everything the manufacturer needs, check the brickwork, lintel and floor, and agree the door details with you.
Do you need permission in Burgess Hill?
The planning authority for Burgess Hill is the local district or borough council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.
English planning rules normally treat a replacement garage door as permitted. Listed status, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and estate planning conditions are what can change that.
Operators normally run from a switched fused spur; adding one to an existing circuit is not notifiable in England, but a new circuit falls under Part P.

Questions from Burgess Hill customers
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to be there at the start and for the handover at the end, so we can agree the details and show you how everything works.
How much does installation cost?
Installation is included in our supply-and-fit prices. A typical single door is around £2,095–£2,795 supplied and fitted.
Which parts of Burgess Hill do you cover?
We cover Burgess Hill across postcode districts BN6, RH15, along with nearby Haywards Heath, Shoreham-by-Sea and Crawley. Dates are agreed when you book.
Will the local district or borough council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. If in doubt, ask the local district or borough council before ordering.
