Key questions about new sectional garage doors in Thornton-Cleveleys
Why does balancing matter?
A balanced door should stay roughly where you leave it part-open. If the springs are set too light or too heavy, the door wears faster and the operator works harder. Balancing is a key step we never skip.
What happens on fitting day?
The old door is taken out, the opening is prepared, the frame and vertical tracks go in, the horizontal tracks are hung from the ceiling, the panels are assembled section by section, and the springs are fitted and set. The operator is fitted last, then everything is tested.
Which options are available in Thornton-Cleveleys?

- Making goodTrims and finishing round the opening.
How much does a new sectional garage door cost in Thornton-Cleveleys?
Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. That covers the door, fitting, removal of a standard old door and VAT; the fixed price follows the free survey.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.
What rules apply in Thornton-Cleveleys?
If your property in Thornton-Cleveleys is listed, in a conservation area or on an estate with planning conditions, the local district or borough council is the authority to check with before ordering.
English planning rules normally treat a replacement garage door as permitted. Listed status, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and estate planning conditions are what can change that.
If the garage already has a socket near the operator position, no electrical notification is needed. A brand-new circuit is notifiable under Part P in England.

Questions from Thornton-Cleveleys customers
How much does installation cost?
Installation is included in our supply-and-fit prices. A typical single door is around £2,095–£2,795 supplied and fitted.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to be there at the start and for the handover at the end, so we can agree the details and show you how everything works.
Do you cover Thornton-Cleveleys?
Yes. We cover Thornton-Cleveleys, including postcode districts FY2, FY5, FY6, FY7. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Do I need planning permission for a new garage door in Thornton-Cleveleys?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. If in doubt, check with the local district or borough council.
Do you also cover towns near Thornton-Cleveleys?
Yes. Close to Thornton-Cleveleys we also cover Poulton-le-Fylde (3 mi), Fleetwood (4 mi), Blackpool (4 mi) and Lytham St Annes (9 mi).
