Sectional garage door installation: what matters for Altrincham garages
Do you supply doors for others to fit?
This service is supply and fit. Spring-loaded doors are dangerous to install without training, which is why we fit what we supply.
What is checked at survey?
We measure the opening width and height, headroom above the opening, side room either side, the depth of the garage, and the condition of the brickwork, lintel and floor. We also look at power for an operator and anything that could get in the way of the tracks.

What will a new sectional garage door cost in Altrincham?
Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. The figure includes VAT, fitting and taking away a standard old door. Your survey turns it into a fixed price.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.
Do you need permission in Altrincham?
Planning questions for homes in Altrincham go to Trafford Council. Most garage door swaps need no permission, but conservation areas and listed buildings are the exceptions.
A new garage door in an existing opening is not normally development needing planning permission in England. The exceptions are listed buildings, conservation areas, Article 4 areas and estates where a planning condition restricts changes to the garage.
If the garage already has a socket near the operator position, no electrical notification is needed. A brand-new circuit is notifiable under Part P in England.

Questions from Altrincham customers
How long does it take to install a sectional garage door?
Most domestic doors are fitted in one day once the door has been made. The quote gives the expected lead time for manufacture.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to be there at the start and for the handover at the end, so we can agree the details and show you how everything works.
Which parts of Altrincham do you cover?
We cover Altrincham across postcode districts M23, M33, WA14, WA15, along with nearby Sale, Urmston and Stretford. Dates are agreed when you book.
Do I need planning permission for a new garage door in Altrincham?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. If in doubt, check with Trafford Council.
Do you also cover towns near Altrincham?
