Choosing a new sectional garage door for a home in Ammanford
What paperwork will I get?
You get the door details, warranty information and, for powered doors, the safety checks carried out at handover, plus guidance on using the emergency release.
Why does balancing matter?
A balanced door should stay roughly where you leave it part-open. If the springs are set too light or too heavy, the door wears faster and the operator works harder. Balancing is a key step we never skip.

What will a new sectional garage door cost in Ammanford?
Guide price: £2,095–£2,795 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
Our free survey checks the opening, headroom above it, room either side for the tracks, garage depth and where an operator will be powered from.
Do you need permission in Ammanford?
Ammanford falls under Carmarthenshire Council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Welsh planning rules usually allow a replacement garage door of similar appearance without an application, unless the home is listed, in a conservation area or subject to conditions.
In Wales a new circuit, or a new supply to a detached garage, is notifiable electrical work and is done by a registered electrician.

Questions from Ammanford customers
Do I need to clear the garage?
Please clear the area just inside the opening and along both side walls and the ceiling for the length of the tracks.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to be there at the start and for the handover at the end, so we can agree the details and show you how everything works.
Which parts of Ammanford do you cover?
We cover Ammanford across postcode districts SA18, along with nearby Gorseinon, Ystalyfera and Llanelli. Dates are agreed when you book.
Will Carmarthenshire Council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not. A replacement garage door of similar appearance is normally minor work in Wales, but listed buildings, conservation areas and planning conditions can change that. If in doubt, ask Carmarthenshire Council before ordering.
