Ribbed sectional garage doors in Lewes

Ribbed sectional garage doors: what matters for Lewes garages

Fine ribs or large ribs?

Fine ribs give a busy, textured look that suits most homes and hides small marks well. Large ribs give a calmer, more architectural look with fewer lines, and suit modern houses and wide doors.

Do ribs affect strength?

The pressed ribs stiffen the steel skin slightly, which helps wide doors stay flat. Insulated cores do most of the stiffening on double-skin panels.

Do you need permission in Lewes?

The planning authority for Lewes is the local district or borough council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.

In England you can usually replace a garage door without planning permission. Check first if the house is listed, sits in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or was built with planning conditions covering the garage.
