Key questions about large sectional doors in Caernarfon
How are lead times affected?
Non-standard sizes are made to order, so lead times can run longer than for common domestic sizes. The quote shows the expected lead time.
What about oak-framed and timber buildings?
Doors can be fixed to timber frames, but the fixings and any packers have to suit the frame, and green oak moves as it dries. The survey checks the frame and the fixing positions.

Guide price: from £4,495 inc VAT. The figure includes VAT, fitting and taking away a standard old door. Your survey turns it into a fixed price.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.
Do you need permission in Caernarfon?
Caernarfon falls under Gwynedd Council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Welsh planning rules usually allow a replacement garage door of similar appearance without an application, unless the home is listed, in a conservation area or subject to conditions.

Usually. The fixing method is matched to the frame, and allowance is made for timber movement.

Do I need planning permission for a new garage door in Caernarfon?
