Low headroom sectional garage doors in Bedworth

What should Bedworth homeowners know about low headroom sectional doors?

Are there trade-offs?

Low headroom systems can cost more, can need a little more depth inside the garage, and some operators need a specific bracket or a different drive. We check all of this at survey.

How much headroom does a standard door need?

Published figures for standard tracks run from about 100 mm to a little over 200 mm above the opening, depending on the range, the spring type, whether there is an operator and whether the door has a pass door. When that space is not there, a low headroom kit changes the track geometry and spring position to fit in less, with some systems quoting as little as 70 to 125 mm.

Planning and regulations for Bedworth homes

Bedworth falls under the local district or borough council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.

In England you can usually replace a garage door without planning permission. Check first if the house is listed, sits in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or was built with planning conditions covering the garage.
