Low headroom sectional garage doors in Northwich

What should Northwich homeowners know about low headroom sectional doors?

How much headroom does a standard door need?

Published figures for standard tracks run from about 100 mm to a little over 200 mm above the opening, depending on the range, the spring type, whether there is an operator and whether the door has a pass door. When that space is not there, a low headroom kit changes the track geometry and spring position to fit in less, with some systems quoting as little as 70 to 125 mm.

What if there is almost no headroom?

If even a low headroom kit will not fit, a side sectional door, which parks against a wall, or a roller door are the alternatives we will talk you through.

What rules apply in Northwich?

Planning questions for homes in Northwich go to Cheshire West and Chester Council. Most garage door swaps need no permission, but conservation areas and listed buildings are the exceptions.

In England you can usually replace a garage door without planning permission. Check first if the house is listed, sits in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or was built with planning conditions covering the garage.
