Glazed and full-vision sectional garage doors in Armagh

Glazed and full-vision sectional garage doors: what matters for Armagh garages

What about privacy?

Frosted, obscured or tinted glazing infills keep the light while hiding what is inside. On full-vision doors this is the usual choice for homes.

Are glazed doors secure?

Glazed panels are generally polycarbonate or safety glazing, depending on the range. A glazed door is still locked by the operator or a lock, but it naturally shows more than a solid door, which is one reason obscured glazing is popular.

What rules apply in Armagh?

The planning authority for Armagh is Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. A replacement garage door is usually outside planning control, but it is worth a quick check where conditions apply.

In Northern Ireland a new door within the existing opening generally needs no planning permission. Listed buildings and conservation areas are the exceptions.

Under the Windsor Framework, products placed on the market in Northern Ireland follow EU rules, so doors carry CE marking (with UKNI where a UK body assessed them). UKCA marking on its own is not accepted in Northern Ireland.
