Electric sectional garage doors in Kingswinford

Key questions about electric sectional doors in Kingswinford

What happens in a power cut?

Every electric sectional door has an emergency release, a cord inside that disconnects the carriage so the door can be lifted by hand. If the garage has no other way in, an external emergency release lock can be added.

Do I need an electrician?

Most operators run from a switched fused spur or socket near the motor position. If you already have one, the fitting is straightforward. If a new circuit is needed, that is notifiable electrical work in some UK nations and we tell you on the quote how it will be handled.

Do you need permission in Kingswinford?

Planning questions for homes in Kingswinford go to Dudley Council. Most garage door swaps need no permission, but conservation areas and listed buildings are the exceptions.

In England you can usually replace a garage door without planning permission. Check first if the house is listed, sits in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or was built with planning conditions covering the garage.

Operators normally run from a switched fused spur; adding one to an existing circuit is not notifiable in England, but a new circuit falls under Part P.
