Key questions about double sectional doors in Larne
How long does fitting take?
A double sectional door is still usually a one-day job for a two-person team, including removal of the old door, unless the opening needs building work first.
One wide door or two single doors?
If your garage has a central pier, two single doors may still make sense. If the opening is clear from side to side, one wide sectional door gives the most usable width and a cleaner look. On some properties removing a central pier is possible, but that is structural work needing proper design, not a decision to make on the doorstep.

Guide price for a double sectional door in Larne
Guide price: £3,295–£4,995 inc VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.
Do you need permission in Larne?
Larne falls under Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Northern Ireland planning rules usually allow a replacement garage door in the same opening. Check with the council planning office first if the property is listed or in a conservation area.
Under the Windsor Framework, products placed on the market in Northern Ireland follow EU rules, so doors carry CE marking (with UKNI where a UK body assessed them). UKCA marking on its own is not accepted in Northern Ireland.

Questions from Larne customers
Do I need more headroom for a double door?
Headroom depends more on the track and spring system than the width. Where headroom is tight, a low-headroom version is available.
Is a double sectional door heavy to open by hand?
When it is correctly balanced, the springs carry most of the weight. Even so, most people choose electric operation on a double.
Do you cover Larne?
Yes. We cover Larne, including postcode districts BT40. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Will Mid and East Antrim Borough Council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not when the door goes into the existing opening. In Northern Ireland, check first if the property is listed or in a conservation area. If in doubt, ask Mid and East Antrim Borough Council before ordering.
