Choosing a commercial sectional door for a home in Bicester
Can a commercial door be insulated?
Yes. Insulated panels are standard on most commercial sectional doors and help heated workshops keep costs down.
What size of premises do you cover?
This page covers workshops, small units, garages for vans and plant, and farm buildings. For large loading bays with dock levellers and shelters, a specialist industrial installer is the right route.

How much does a commercial sectional door cost in Bicester?
Guide price: from £3,500 + VAT. Prices include VAT and fitting. Building work to the opening or a new electrical circuit would be quoted separately.
The survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure width, height, headroom, side room and depth, and look at power for an operator.
Do you need permission in Bicester?
Bicester falls under the local district or borough council for planning and building control, which is the place to check if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
A new garage door in an existing opening is not normally development needing planning permission in England. The exceptions are listed buildings, conservation areas, Article 4 areas and estates where a planning condition restricts changes to the garage.
Operators normally run from a switched fused spur; adding one to an existing circuit is not notifiable in England, but a new circuit falls under Part P.
At work, powered doors must also be maintained under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Questions from Bicester customers
Do commercial doors need servicing?
Yes. Powered doors at work should be maintained and checked regularly, with records kept.
Do you fit loading bay equipment?
No. We fit sectional doors to workshops and small units. Dock levellers, shelters and full loading bays need a specialist industrial door company.
Do you cover Bicester?
Yes. We cover Bicester, including postcode districts OX6, OX25, OX26, OX27. Installation and visit dates depend on installer availability and are agreed when you book.
Will the local district or borough council need to approve my new garage door?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. If in doubt, ask the local district or borough council before ordering.
