Anthracite and RAL coloured sectional garage doors in Cornwall
Looking for a coloured sectional door in Cornwall? We cover Redruth, Falmouth, St Austell and Truro and the rest of the area, measuring, supplying and fitting each door.
Coloured sectional garage doors are sectional doors finished in a colour other than the standard white, from the popular anthracite grey (RAL 7016) to black, greens, blues and creams, so the door can match windows, front doors and cladding. Most ranges offer a short list of preferred colours and a wide RAL palette to order.

What should you know about coloured sectional doors in Cornwall?
Will a dark colour fade or move?
All exterior coatings weather. Dark colours absorb more heat, and some manufacturers limit dark colours on certain sizes or recommend specific panel types for sunny elevations. We check the rules for your door.
Can the inside be a different colour?
The inside of most doors is a standard white or light grey finish. Some ranges offer the outside colour on both faces at extra cost.
Preferred colours or RAL to order?
Preferred colours are held by the manufacturer, so they cost less and arrive sooner. RAL colours to order widen the choice but can add cost and lead time.
Which options can you choose?
- Two-sided colourOutside colour on both faces on some ranges.
- Anthracite RAL 7016The classic dark grey.
- Heritage coloursGreens, blues and creams.

What rules apply in Cornwall?
In England, swapping a garage door for a new one, including an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission. Permission or consent can be needed if the house is listed, if it sits in a conservation area or is covered by an Article 4 direction, or if the new door would noticeably change how the house looks from the street. On many newer estates a planning condition removes permitted development rights or requires the garage to be kept for parking, so check your planning history before changing the door or the use of the garage.
Planning authorities in Cornwall include Cornwall Council.

Questions about anthracite and RAL coloured sectional garage doors in Cornwall
How much extra is a coloured garage door?
Preferred colours such as anthracite grey often cost little or nothing extra; RAL colours to order usually add to the price. A coloured single door is typically around £2,095–£2,995 supplied and fitted.
What colour garage door adds most kerb appeal?
The one that matches your windows and front door. Anthracite grey and white are the most common choices.
Can I paint my sectional door later?
Repainting a factory-finished door can affect the warranty and is rarely as durable. It is better to order the colour you want.
Which towns in Cornwall do you cover?
We cover Redruth, Falmouth, St Austell, Truro, Camborne, Newquay and Penzance and other towns across Cornwall.
Do I need planning permission in Cornwall?
Usually not. Replacing a garage door, including with an electric sectional door, does not normally need planning permission in England unless the house is listed, in a conservation area or Article 4 area, or has planning conditions affecting the garage. Check with your local planning authority if in doubt.
