Anthracite and RAL coloured sectional garage doors in Angus and Dundee
Our coloured sectional door service covers Angus and Dundee: Dundee, Arbroath, Forfar and Carnoustie, plus the surrounding area, with each door made to measure after a free survey.
Coloured sectional garage doors are sectional doors finished in a colour other than the standard white, from the popular anthracite grey (RAL 7016) to black, greens, blues and creams, so the door can match windows, front doors and cladding. Most ranges offer a short list of preferred colours and a wide RAL palette to order.

What should you know about coloured sectional doors in Angus and Dundee?
Can the inside be a different colour?
The inside of most doors is a standard white or light grey finish. Some ranges offer the outside colour on both faces at extra cost.
How do I match my windows?
Ask your window installer for the RAL or foil reference, or bring a sample to the survey. Colour on screen is never a safe guide.
Preferred colours or RAL to order?
Preferred colours are held by the manufacturer, so they cost less and arrive sooner. RAL colours to order widen the choice but can add cost and lead time.
Which options can you choose?
- Heritage coloursGreens, blues and creams.
- Black and dark greysRAL 9005 and similar.
- Anthracite RAL 7016The classic dark grey.
- Two-sided colourOutside colour on both faces on some ranges.
How much does a coloured sectional door cost in Angus and Dundee?
Guide price: £2,095–£2,995 inc VAT. The figure includes VAT, fitting and taking away a standard old door. Your survey turns it into a fixed price.
At the free survey we measure everything the manufacturer needs, check the brickwork, lintel and floor, and agree the door details with you.
What rules apply in Angus and Dundee?
In Scotland, works that do not materially change the outside appearance of a house are not usually development, so a like-for-like garage door is normally fine. The householder permitted development class for external alterations does not apply in conservation areas, so a visibly different door in a conservation area is likely to need permission, and listed building consent is a separate requirement. Your council planning team can confirm.
Planning authorities in Angus and Dundee include Angus Council and Dundee City Council.

Questions about anthracite and RAL coloured sectional garage doors in Angus and Dundee
Can I paint my sectional door later?
Repainting a factory-finished door can affect the warranty and is rarely as durable. It is better to order the colour you want.
What colour garage door adds most kerb appeal?
The one that matches your windows and front door. Anthracite grey and white are the most common choices.
How much extra is a coloured garage door?
Preferred colours such as anthracite grey often cost little or nothing extra; RAL colours to order usually add to the price. A coloured single door is typically around £2,095–£2,995 supplied and fitted.
Which towns in Angus and Dundee do you cover?
We cover Dundee, Arbroath, Forfar and Carnoustie and other towns across Angus and Dundee.
Do I need planning permission in Angus and Dundee?
Usually not for a like-for-like door. In Scotland a visibly different door in a conservation area is likely to need permission, and listed buildings need consent. Check with your local planning authority if in doubt.
